Women’s World Cup qualifiers – Germany move up to five out of five with huge win over Turkey
Germany won 8-0 in their home game against Turkey on Friday night.
The Germans have now scored 28 goals and conceded only one. “Today was good in many areas,” said manager Martina Voss-Tecklenburg.
Turkey’s Kezban Tag scored in her own net to open the scoring, and there were goals for Lea Schuller – a hat-trick – and one for Jule Brand, Laura Freigang, Sjoeke Nusken and Klara Buhl.

The victory leaves Germany at the top of Group H after five games played, with a perfect record so far. Turkey is third.
Slovenia also enjoyed a beating, as they sent Estonia 6-0. The victory left them in second place in Group I, with Estonia at the bottom without a point. Wales would demolish later Greece 5-0 to go in second position with Slovenia. France then proceeded to crush Kazakhstan 6-0 to keep the pressure at the top of the group.
Croatia were held in check 0-0 at home by Lithuania. It was the first point for both teams, who are only above useless Moldova – despite only playing one Group G game. Italy were surprise 2-1 losers when they hosted Switzerland in their evening game, the Swiss ahead of their hosts by three points. Romania won a 3-0 victory over Moldova stay third.
Cyprus hosted Belarus and the honors were tied with the scores 1-1. The draw gives Belarus their fourth point, while Cyprus‘the only point still leaves them down.
In the last matches of the day, Malta lost 2-0 at home to Montenegro.
In Group B, Scotland drew 1-1 at home with Ukraine. That left Scotland and Ukraine second and third, respectively, at the start of the day.
