NEW DELHI: The Indian Women’s Soccer Team will gain experience playing against quality opponents like Uzbekistan and Belarus, feel the midfield Indumathi kathiresan, who was named captain for both matches.
Already in formation in Uzbekistan, the Indian team will play against the hosts on April 5 and against Belarus on April 8.
“I’m really grateful that we were able to train for so many months, even during the pandemic situation, in a safe way. It really helped us a lot, ”Indumathi told aiff.com.
Ahead of the matches in Uzbekistan, India also played three friendlies in Turkey against quality opponents like Serbia, Russia and Ukraine.
“We also had the opportunity to play three good matches in Turkey. We did our best in all three matches and gained a lot of experience against quality opponents, ”she said.
“Now that we are in Uzbekistan, we will seek to continue the same good work. We have a number of energetic young players on the team.
Indumathi said leading the national team in the next two matches would be a moment of pride.
“It is a moment of pride to have been named captain of the Indian team for these two matches.
“It’s not an easy task, but I’ll try to do my best. I will try to motivate everyone, so that we all move forward as a team. ”
These matches are part of the preparations for the Women’s Asian Cup 2022 that India will welcome.
