UEFA to announce ticket pricing policy for 2022 Champions League final in Russia in March

MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is expected to announce in March the ticket price policy for the 2022 UEFA Champions League final game in St Petersburg, Russia, the committee’s press office said on Wednesday. local organization at TASS.

Russian broadcaster Match-TV reported earlier today, citing its unnamed source, that ticket prices for the 2022 UEFA Champions League final match in Russia would be between 1,390 euros (nearly 1,580 dollars) and 90 euros (more than 100 dollars).

The UEFA press office has confirmed to TASS that information on alleged ticket prices for the highly anticipated game will be provided in due course.

“UEFA can confirm that ticket prices have not been released and the information you have seen is not correct,” the press office said. “All ticketing information for the 2022 UEFA Champions League Final will be communicated in due course.”

Alexey Sorokin, the head of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), said on January 18 that another visit from the Union of European Football Associations’ assessment group, ahead of the UEFA Champions League final match 2022, was to take place in Russia. St. Petersburg from February 7 to 10.

In August 2019, European football governing body UEFA announced Russia’s selection of Saint Petersburg as the venue for the 2021 Champions League final at the newly constructed football stadium.

However, the date was moved to 2022 for security reasons amid the global spread of the novel coronavirus and the match is now scheduled for May 28, 2022.

The newly built football arena in Saint Petersburg hosted the opening and final matches of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and was also one of 12 stadiums across the country hosting the Cup matches 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The stadium with a capacity of more than 62,300 seats was laid out in the western part of Krestovsky Island in Saint Petersburg in 2007 and put into operation in early 2017. It serves as the home stadium for the football club Zenit St. Petersburg.
