The first Barnetby United side to get the better of College Wanderers

Barnetby and College played a draw.

Barnetby United became the first team to take a point off College Wanderers as the sides played out an action-packed 0-0 draw at Silver Street.

College attacked in the first with the wind at their backs from the railroad end, but Barnetby’s back line and rookie keeper Shaw kept their lead at arm’s length.

Scoreless on the turn, as the two teams traded blows, College held the upper hand and in the 73rd minute they were deservedly awarded a penalty.

Paddy Shaw had a great save on his debut to keep the railroaders in the game.

Harry Finnis was causing continued problems down the College right and Callum Wilkins, plowing a single furrow up front, then had a goal ruled out for offside and minutes later, in the dying embers of the game, saw his header swing over the bar.
