Russia has hit Kyiv with missiles for the first time in more than a month, while President Vladimir Putin has warned it will hit new targets in the country if Western countries supply Ukraine with missiles at more Long range. In Sievierodonetsk, the main eastern battleground where Russia has recently concentrated its forces, Ukrainian officials said a counterattack had recaptured half the town.

During the Kyiv attack, one person was hospitalized although no immediate deaths were reported. Black smoke could be seen several kilometers away after Russia attacked two outlying districts on Sunday. Ukraine said the strike hit a car repair shop, while Moscow said it destroyed tanks sent by Eastern European countries to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian lawmaker, Yevhen Yakovenko, has been detained on the Moldovan border at the request of the International Criminal Police Organization, or Interpol, the Moldovan border police. Yakovenko was placed in a remand center, a representative of the Border Police press service said. Viorel Tentiu, the head of Interpol in Moldova, said in a statement that Yakovenko had been listed following accusations of bribery and corruption from Belarus.
