Jesse Lingard dazzles on loan again as he scores a wonderful goal
Jesse Lingard’s loan to Manchester United looks like one of the best deals of the season.
Lingard scored his sixth goal in eight games to help West Ham defeat Wolves.
The goal was fantastic, with Lingard picking up the ball in his own half of the field, running towards the Wolves defense and pulling it past the goalkeeper.
It was the kind of strike we hadn’t seen from Lingard at United in about three years.
Lingard’s goal surprised former Manchester United team-mate Romelu Lukaku.
There was more to come from Lingard, with loaned United producing a spin to Dimitar Berbatov near the corner flag in a move that led to West Ham’s second goal.
He provided the assist for West Ham’s third which proved crucial as the game ended 3-2.
Lingard places West Ham in fourth position, ahead of Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham. They will imagine their chances of staying in that position, with eight games to go.
What should United do with Lingard?
The better Lingard plays, the better for United. But the conversation will also revolve around whether United should keep him.
There will never be a better time to cash in, especially with Euro 2021 ahead and Lingard’s price could rise due to his participation in the tournament.
United could cash around £ 30million, a price the club are expected to take, to fund our own inbound transfer activities.
Lingard looks genuinely happy at West Ham, and he won’t want to come back to Old Trafford to sit on the bench.
It would be best for all parties to move on, provided a high offer comes in. There might be a few other clubs interested with West Ham.
