How Man Utd and Arsenal fans could attend Europa League final with travel bubble and return flight with Covid-19 tests

MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal supporters are hoping to see the Europa League final in Poland later this month – if they both qualify, of course.

Gdansk is preparing to host the centerpiece final on May 26 with up to 10,000 supporters in the 41,000-seat arena.

This includes an allowance of up to 2,000 for each team that reaches the final.

Manchester United are four goals ahead of Roma in the first leg while Arsenal must overcome a 2-1 deficit in the first leg against Villarreal.

Arsenal is believed to have a unique travel option for their potential date in Poland – a flight package managed by the club.

This tightly controlled measure, to combat the risk of Covid-19, would be followed by a coach from the airport to the ground.

And there would be no travel around the big Baltic coast city of Gdansk itself.

Tickets are already available for purchase through UEFA for a maximum of £ 113, with the cheapest around £ 35.

But fans – who can apply for a maximum of two each – will play on lifting border restrictions between the UK and Poland over the next three weeks.

According to the current government opinion, no “non-essential” travel to Poland should be made.

However, flights are still ongoing between the two countries.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that some overseas travel could be allowed from May 17 – the next phase of the lockdown roadmap.

Johnson said the government “will say more as soon as possible” but “we have to be very, very tough.”

As it stands, visitors to Poland are subject to quarantine requirements and must have tested negative for Covid within 48 hours of arriving in the country.

But for now the situation is fluid and could change in the coming weeks.

UEFA warned: “Foreign fans will have to comply with border entry restrictions and requirements that will be in effect at the time of the final, as no exemptions will be granted to ticket holders.

“Access to the stadium will be granted in accordance with applicable local legislation, which must be confirmed by local authorities during this week and may include the need for proof of a vaccine or a negative Covid test result -19. “
