Eljif Elmas scored Napoli’s opening goal on Thursday, the second-fastest on record in UEFA second-division competition, but Spartak Moscow rallied to a 3-2 victory after both sides were downsized to 10 men.
Lazio, Lyon and West Ham also scored victories, while fan unrest led to the Marseille-Galatasaray game being stopped for around 10 minutes in the first half.

In Scotland’s second straight loss, young Sparta fans repeatedly booed Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara. The incident came after Ondrej Kudela, of Sparta’s big rival Slavia Prague, received a 10-match suspension from UEFA after being found guilty of racist abuse against the Finnish player.
Kamara was sent off after picking up his second yellow in the second half. Also in Group A, Lyon beat Danish club Broendby 3-0.

Defender Chris Smalling and substitute Tammy Abraham scored a few second-half goals for Roma within two minutes.
Roma have won eight of 10 matches in all competitions under Jose Mourinho. The new European tournament could see Mourinho achieve a career treble after previously winning the Champions League and Europa League.
Including the knockout phase, Roma have won four of the four Conference League games with 13 goals scored and two conceded. At the opening of Group C, Roma beat CSKA Sofia 5-1.
Tottenham rebounded from three consecutive Premier League defeats with their first Conference League victory following a 2-2 draw at Rennes in the competition’s opener.
Dele Alli calmly converted on the spot four minutes into the game with Giovani Lo Celso scoring from close range just four minutes later.
The victory was a relief for manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who initially rested Kane. The star striker came on before the hour mark and scored three goals between the 68th and 87th minutes.
The Conference League was created to give clubs in smaller countries more chances to compete.
