Questions remain over where the money from the sale of Chelsea will go.
The club was put up for sale by Roman Abramovich after Russia invaded Ukraine and offers have now been reduced to just three interested parties. And Thomas Tuchel’s signing of Romelu Lukaku last summer could serve as a warning to Manchester City as they line up to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Questions remain about recovery
Questions remain over what will happen to the money from the sale of Chelsea.
There are two likely scenarios regarding what happens to any profit generated: a surplus will either go to charities dedicated to victims of the war in Ukraine or be placed in an escrow account, where it will be frozen and held for an indefinite period of time. – possibly until Abramovich is no longer on the British government’s sanctions list.
But clarity is unlikely to come until the end of the deal.
