The Istanbul rams announced the signing of Australian quarterback Jared Stegman returning to Europe after four years of absence.

Stegman is currently the quarterback of the The crows of the bay who have won back-to-back championships in Queensland, australia and seem ready to win another.

The 31-year-old all-rounder Stegman (6’2 ″, 210 lbs), from Brisbane, Australia, last played in Europe in 2017, while leading the Baltic hurricanes in Kiel to the German Football League semifinals after throwing for 3,117 yards and 47 touchdowns.

He spent the 2018 season as a quarterback for the Asahi Silver Star Beer in Japanese X League before returning to Australia. Stegman gained worldwide recognition at 2015 IFAF World Championships in Canton, Ohio, piloting Australia in fifth place, sometimes dramatically. In 2016, he led the Uppsala 86 in the Swedish championship game losing in heartbreak against the seven times champions Carlstad Crusaders. In 10 regular season games, Stegman threw for 1,988 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Stegman is eager to return to Europe:

“I am really delighted to be returning to Europe where I started my football career abroad. The whole process with the Rams was very easy and now I’m ready to go, work with my teammates and learn from Coach Gunn.
