Barcelona news – Ansu Fati pledges future with Catalan club with long-term contract and € 1 billion release clause
Ansu Fati has signed a new long-term contract with Barcelona.
The 18-year-old resigned with the club until 2027, his new contract including a € 1 billion release clause.
He follows Pedri in securing a new contract at Barcelona as Club Catalan tie up two of their most promising young stars.

Fati has scored 15 goals in 47 games for Barcelona and last year became the youngest goalscorer in Spanish history when he scored against Ukraine when he was just 17 years old.
Born in Guinea-Bissau, Fati has been in Barcelona for almost a decade and took the number ten jersey from Lionel Messi’s departure this summer.
He has scored twice since returning from a ten-month injury hiatus in late September.
“This is very important news,” Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman said under pressure of Fati’s new contract.
“He is a young player with a lot of quality and one of those who should shape the future of the club.”
With midfielder Pedri now also on contract until 2026 and with an equally prohibitive release clause, Barcelona have secured two potential future mega-stars as they seek to solidify their strategy after Messi left the club for Paris Saint-Germain.
It has been reported that Gavi is set to be their third building block, with discussions ongoing over the 17-year-old’s own long-term contractual situation.
The midfielder became the youngest player to represent the Spanish men’s national team when Luis Enrique made his debut in the Nations League finals.
